ICU – Alert System

ICU Patient Monitoring System

Autonomous Crisis Detection and Remote Medical Notification In critical care environments, every second counts. ICU Pulse is a hardware-integrated solution designed to monitor ICU patients' vitals and autonomously alert medical staff during emergencies. The system utilizes a "Rover" architecture with a local display for on-site monitoring and a wireless uplink to provide doctors with real-time remote data.

Sensing: The system collects raw physiological data from the patient via non-invasive sensors. Processing: The microcontroller analyzes the data against medical safety thresholds. Local Visualization: Current vitals are displayed on the ward's Rover/Display unit.

Critical Trigger: If vitals become unstable, the local buzzer sounds immediately.Remote Sync: Data is pushed via WiFi to the cloud/local server for doctor notification.

Features

  • Real-Time Vitals Display: A localized display next to the ICU bed for immediate status checks.
  • Wireless Data Uplink: Seamlessly transmits heart rate, $SpO_2$, and temperature to a central database.
  • Smart Crisis Detection: Pre-programmed logic that triggers a loud buzzer when vitals fall below safe levels.
  • Remote Doctor Access: Doctors can monitor multiple patients simultaneously from their own devices, reducing response time.
  • Nurse Support Mode:: Provides an extra layer of safety during busy night shifts, acting as an automated watchdog.

Tech Stack

  • Hardware: Esp 8266,Pulse Oximeter (MAX30102), Heart Rate sensors, Temperature sensors, LCD Display, Buzzer, Active Piezo Buzzer & LED indicators,
  • Dashboard: Streamlit or a Web-based portal for the doctor’s view, MQTT.
